Overdrive : It is an arrangement of gearing which is
used to produce more revolutions of the main flame. In other
words, it is a combination of gearing inside a transmission
or transaxle that results in the output speed being greater
than the input speed. |
Overfire Draft : The air pressure in a boiler furnace
during occurrence of the main flame is called overfire draft.

Overhaul : The process of taking apart, inspect, repair
and reassemble as a piece of machinery. |
Overhead Shafting : It is a line shafting or counter
shafting which is suspended from the ceiling from which power
is transmitted to machines. |
Overhead Shovel : It is a tractor which digs with a shovel
at its front end, swings the shovel rearward overhead and dumps
the shovel at its rear end. |
Overrunning Clutch : It is a device used in a transmission
which disengages the driveshaft from the driven shaft when the
driven shaft rotates faster than the driveshaft. It is also
known as Freewheel. |
Overshot Wheel : It is a vertically-mounted water wheel
which is rotated by falling water striking paddles, blades or
buckets near the top of the wheel. |
Overspeed Governor : It is a governor which is used to
stop the prime mover when speed is excessive. |
