Pickoff : It is a mechanical device which is used to
remove the finished part automatically from a press die. |
Pile Driver : It is a mechanical device which is used
to drive piles into soil to provide foundation support for buildings
or other structures. |
Pile Hammer : The heavy weight of a pile driver which
depends on gravity for its striking power. It is designed to
drive piles into the ground. It is also called Drop Hammer.
|
Pilot Drill : It is a type of small drill which is used
to start a hole to ensure that a larger drill will run true
to center. |
Pinion : It is usually the smallest gear in a gear drive
train. |
Piston : It is a component of reciprocating engines,

from expanding gas in the cylinder to the crankshaft via a piston
rod and/or connecting rod. |
Piston Corer : It is a steel tube which is driven into
the sediment by a free fall and by lead attached to the upper
end. It is able to recover undistorted vertical sections of
sediment. |
Piston Displacement : The volume which is displaced in
a single stroke by a piston in a cylinder, equal to the distance
which the piston travels times the internal cross section of
the cylinder. |
Piston Valve : It is a device which is used to control
the motion of a fluid along a tube or pipe through the linear
motion of a piston within a chamber or cylinder. |
Plain Turning : Lathe operations those are involved when
machining a workpiece between centers can be called plain turning.
|
Planer : It is a machine which is designed for the shaping
of long, flat, or flat contoured surfaces by reciprocating the
